
Meet Rio:

Rio is married and has two step-daughters and two children. His younger kids have been in the WJCC school system since Kindergarten and his older step- daughter graduated from William and Mary

Rio has been an educator for the last twenty years. He has taught, coached or tutored every age group from PK through PhD students.

In addition to teaching at the University level Rio has been a summer camp counselor, a soccer coach for “at-risk” middle school boys, and spent five years as an elementary school teacher.

As a professor at the College of William and Mary, Rio has also been deeply involved with the implementation of the university’s new general education curriculum and was the recipient of the 2015 Thomas Jefferson Award for Excellence in Teaching.
